CCR for Music Video

  1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My genre challenges convention because it didn’t do the norm. Like some aspect were the norm and some weren’t. R&B could be different in many ways. Some of them have sad songs and some of them have happy. Sometimes they are singing in the rain, dancing, and it’s usually a dark mood so you can feel their hurt and see they are sad. Sometimes it’s one of those happy songs and the sun is shining all bright and they are in a good mood. The clothing is mostly casual. Though most of the times they switch it up throughout the video with different outfits. The girls usually wear dressy outfits, some would say “sexy” and the men would probably use baggy clothes that would help them dance better. Sometimes they would be in designer outfits, stuff that makes them look “fresh”. We did it different because the people in my video they wore casual clothes. Nothing too fancy.   One thin

Music Video

Here's our music video😊. I know it isn't top notch but I think it's pretty good for our first time. So in the first couple of seconds, you see Niyah,( Akiel's sister), and Sarah walking and talking. Niyah played Keyshia Cole and Sarah played the best friend. So Niyah is saying how her man didn't call her back, which you can hear in the audio. Then it's Niyah singing; then Sarah is telling Niyah how her man loves her. I would say this was a pan. Niyah is still singing about it and Sarah said she's tripping. Then it's back to Niyah singing. The next scene is Akiel and Sarah secretly holding hands. Akiel plays Keyshia's boyfriend. So why is he holding Sarah's hand? When filming that, I used a zoom so I can place emphasis on that. When filming Niyah singing, I used a medium shot. The next scene is Keyshia saying "she'll never be me" and Akiel is hugging Niyah while sneaking a kiss at Sarah. Niyah is singing again. The next scene is m

Editing Blog: The Process

This was way harder to edit than the commercial. It took me hours to do this. So I used iMovie again because it's on my phone and that was easier. To edit this project, I decided to insert the clips, then I would go to YouTube and put the song on and record it as a voiceover. So I put the first clip, but then I had problems with the voiceover. The one problem was I couldn't look the song up on the laptop because for some reason it's restricted. So I used my sister's phone. I started the song at 0:53. The part I needed started at 0:53.4 something like that. So that was very tricky. Then I just said I'm not going to do the voiceover yet. I'm going to insert all the clips, and make sure they match along with the song. When we recorded, we recorded a full minute with Akiel's sister singing so I would just be able to insert it. I didn't think because then when it came to editing, I had to keep cutting off clips from that one video. It was so frustrating beca

Filming Blog: The Process

I was the camera man/ director in this music video. I would rather do the behind-the-scenes because I don't like being on camera. I guess you can say I'm a little camera shy. So we arrived to Akiel's house and went straight to working. The first scene I shot was Akiel's sister talking to Sarah about some problems. That was a pan because I made sure to move the camera with them. The second scene I took was Sarah sneaking to meet Akiel at this house. I made sure to get an angle from behind Sarah to one in front of her. One problem I had was that everyone wasn't dressed up to par for a certain scene. So I had to come up with a whole scene because that one was really important. (10) I also wanted a bedroom scene but we were too scared to go into Akiel's house. He had a dog and we were terrified of it. So we also had to do something else for that. The next scene I filmed was Akiel's sister catching Akiel and Sarah in the car together. After that I filmed the par
